On the screen, minangkabau's wisdom words are being narrated. The words are describing how minang's culture is welcoming a change.

Once a big water flows, it changes the seaside.

FADE IN

EXT. The garden of a Minangkabau House - Midday

The sky is clear, we look at the full view of Rumah Gadang; a traditional house in Minang. Camera moves slowly to the door. In front of it, there is a woman wearing a complete traditional cloth, she brings a carano; a plate of betel leaves as a symbol of welcoming guests. She sees the world in front of her with empty eyes.

CU.

She is looking at the garden. She sees no one. It is a wide and calm garden.

MCU.

An empty granary. A broken Stone mortar. Some chickens are eating rice.

CU.

The women starts to smile, a weird smile comes out from her lips while going downstairs and leaves the Rumah Gadang.

CU.

Sirih Leaves scatter along the road

CU.

The woman's feet are walking on the causeway

FULL SHOOT.

The Minangnese woman is passing the river and the village

MCU.

Villagers are watching her with smile, some of them are amazed by her appearance and some of them look at her in a cynical way. Even When she nearly leaves the village, people seem to look at her with empty eyes.

EXT. Bus station - midday

MCU.

Footsteps are coming into the station

LS.

The woman who wears traditional cloth is standing in the middle of the crowd. She is looking around and saying welcome to everyone

“WELCOME, WELCOME”

That is the only words that can come out from her mouth, her lips are bright red. People do noy pay any attention to her. She dances, a dance that is used to be performed to welcome guests. Betel leaves are falling down. She is welcoming a group of drunken youngster with a welcome dance. Welcoming the ticket scalpers, who are doing transactions with the passengers, welcoming security guards who are fighting with the illegal street sellers. No one seems to care. The events just goes by. She is dancing with a solitude feeling.

CUT TO CU.

Bus wheel is rolling on the street

INT. In the bus - midday

In the bus which is going to down town, the woman is sitting alone. She is putting a carano as a symbol of a welcoming ceremony. The other passengers look at her strangely. The wheel is keek rolling on the street, passing the bilboard, airport, bridge, symbols of a big city.

CUT TO.

EXT. Big Street - midday

The minangnese woman is walking around the crowd.

EXT.

She is standing and feel nothing in front of a mall. Face to face with young modern girls with their handphones. Young mothers with their shopping stuff. She's stopping on a stair. She is looking to her right ,and there is KFC, and her left she is seeing CFC. She is going into the mall, and being welcomed by ringtones from the handphone stores and in front of her many tv stations (promotion of a product in a mall), are showing various programs from some countries such as China, India, Amerika, Perancis, Korea, and she caught by some criminal news. her body slowly shakes...then it cahnges into a welcoming dance. She is dancing among televisons, she is dancing on the tv. Betel leaves are scattering again.

DISOLVE TO.

The woman with traditional cloth is dancing in the crowd of a discotheque. She is Dancing and dancing in a alienated solitude

CUT TO.

That woman is in the cloth counter, freezing with her carano in her hand. Next to her there is a manequin with colourful cloth, a group of young girls with short pants, full of accessories, colored hair, are seeing into the counter. One of them is writing a graffity ‘welcome’. Then, they are laughing and leaving the women with the traditional cloth alone. The sky is dark.
